Welcome to Sarcoidosis. The forming of nodules or the inflammation of cells is a very common thing to see on the surface of the skin, but this condition does not apply to those external surfaces as it is known to take place on the surface of the body’s internal organs. This is a condition called Sarcoidosis.
One of the many solutions to the inflammation of these organ cells is with a sarcoidosis diet plan. The reason why this makes sense is because the inflammation is often through to be triggered through nutrition, since the impact is around the lymph nodes, liver, heart and other organs.
It’s been determined that while you may not be able to change the cause of the condition, that with a diet you are able to reduce the inflammation which can be mild to severe. We know that there are foods which are encouraged in today’s diet standards that resonate broadly in our culture. It is always encouraged to reduce the intake of fast food meals since they often include ingredients that our bodies react badly to. Diet studies show you should reduce or avoid:
- Transfats – these fats are made in the majority of foods like baked goods, deep fried foods, and cookies. Most of the transfats are artificial and they have been shown to make the inflammation worst.
- Omega-6 – We hear a lot about omega 3′s but omega 6 is found in other foods that we often have too much of such as shortening, bread and some oils.
- Glucose & Carbs – This is also a part of our bad diet habits today. People that have an allergic reaction or are not able to digest glucose, have worst cases of inflammation. This is like starch, sugar, white rice and pasta. The increased levels of insulin will only make things worst.
You can see all of these ingredients in just about everything sold off the shelves or over counters. When you’re grocery shopping, it’s recommended that you make sure to stay away from anything these and anything that’s labeled as instant, has preservatives or is simply too easy to make.
It’s very easy to get off schedule if you’re already on a healthy diet. Awareness has a lot to do with how effective a diet for sarcoidosis really is. If it is a recurring condition than you might know what kind of food is causing it, but there are some foods that are still in a gray area like:
- Dairy (w/sugar)
- Nightshade Vegetables – potatoes, tomatoes, and peppers.
- Artificial Sweeteners
Especially when it comes to soy products, the body reacts to this very much as it would with glucose. sarcoidosis and diet would require that you be very selective with soy products and sweeteners. A good effective diet for sarcoidosis that has less risk would require things such as:
- Lean meat
- Olive oil
- Raw nuts
- Green Vegetables
It isn’t always clear when a sarcoidosis diet plan will start to reduce the inflammation but the sooner you are able to start, the better. Each of these items will have to be part of every meal plan throughout your day and make sure to drink plenty of water. Sarcoidosis and diet changes are a better and more consistent way to make sure you keep the condition under control to the point where it might be an over all benefit, to clear it all together.
